Dear The Denver Post,

     I find it a bit frightening that a group of people were able to walk into a bank without a gun and still be able to rob the place. It is surprising that the group has not been seen or caught yet, because in many situations like this there has been witnesses. It is good that the newspapers are informing everyone of the incident, but it is hard to report anything when the criminals were impossible to identify. I am sure the FBI will find them some how, and hopefully the security systems will be upgraded. This matters to me because I occasionally go to the bank, and I have money in mine. This effects the community because they all have money in banks, and they deserve to have it in a safe place. This matters to the world because robberies occur everyday, and it must be stopped.

Dear David Warlick,

I am a fellow student, and I have been able to connect to your blog. No students begin school hoping to drop out, they start by thinking and hoping to get to college and make a difference in the world. As the year commences unfortunatly some of these students feel the need to drop out of school. Many people wonder why kids would want to throw their lives away, but kids drop out mainly from these four reasons, their parents, classmates, teachers, and the school district. Some school districts find that a certain student is not very smart, and not efficient, but what they are forgetting is how will these students gain intelligence and how will they learn to obtain efficieny. All four of these factors can make students feel miserable and persuade them to drop out of school, causing them to throw their dreams of college and making  difference in the world all away. So I think school districts are a big factor in why kids stay in school, but not the only factor.

Dear Will Richardson,

     I would have to agree with your blog on how kids are not using their full potential. Students could use their maximum potential if they were taught right. I am a student myself ending my first year as a freshman, and I can tell you that I have not done as well as I could and should have, and now I must try to catch up for all my wasted potential. If a student has the proper resources, this would be a simple task, but many schools do not have enough money, with budget cuts and lack of supplies and space. Any student can achieve greatness. Thank you for explaining it better to me, and I sm going to try to use all of my potential in my remaining school years.

Dear Admin,

     I completley agree with your idea on online education. Kids can not concentrate as well in class, and computers allows them to get work done, and be motivated to do their work correctly. When friends are around, ot is hard for kids to get work done, and they do not try their hardest. Kids can also look things up if they do not know something, causingthem to be the teacher, causing them to learn more and more. I am a high schooler, and I will admit that I have trouble getting my work in on time because I have so many people to talk to and spend time with. On the other hand, kids could learn from themselves, a teacher, and classmates. I feel online courses would end up being the most helpful for students.

Dear Karl,

      I read your blog on CSAP, and how it is changing to the TCAP. This really interested me, and I agree with you on how tests are changing all over the United States. Kids have been taking CSAPs for years, and it will be interesting to see how these new tests will go, and if they are more helpful then just regular CSAPs. This information is good for all students who want to do well in testing, and students would be wise to know how this test works to do well.

In Clay Shirky's "How cognitive surplus will change the world" he talks of the struggles going on in Kenya, and how they do not have much resources and they are in trouble. then he talks of hope or benediction that all of the Kenyan citizens rely on. He then goes into talking about how education is changing in the world, and so is technology. When he talks about surplus he is talking about people who are doing nothing and need to fill in and be moreoutgoing if they want to succeed. This matters to me because I am one of these people who do not use my head and money for the right uses. This matters to education because it is up to the students in schools to fix problems in the future. This matters to the world because if we want to succeed and excel in life we need to increase are education levels. My question for you all is are you using your time and money wisely?

In the article "Man robs 16th Street Mall bank" by Kirk Mithell a man robbed a bank near 16th mall. The man had no weapon, and he robbed the bank at around 12:12pm. Thankfully no one was injured and it is unknown how much money was taken.This matters to me because I want to live in a crime free neighborhood. This matters to education because a lot of people lost money. This matters to the world because bank robberies occur all the time. My question for you all is are you threatened by crime?

In RSA Animate's "Changing Education Programs it tells how all the world is going to change education because students are doing less work and it is time to join the economy. Education believes that students have to many benefactors and should have less priviledges. This matters to me because I am a student myself, and I feel that the education is tough how it is and education does not have to reform. This matters to education because so many students are trying to learn now as it is. This also matters to the world because millions of students will have to learn a new way to learn. My question for you all is does education have to change?

In the article "Fumigation forces evacuation in Aurora" by The Denver Post All of the Aurora citizens were evacuated out of the area because someone was sent to the hospita because they were in the presence offumigation. Luckily The Red Cross was there to help and set up tents for victims. This matters to me because fumigation could happen anywhere, and I live near Aurora. This matters to education because if fumigation occurs in a school the students need to know how to get out. This matters to the world because fumigation could happen anywhere at anytime. My question for you all is are you worried about fumigation.

In George F. Wills "Lost in Electronica" students, mainly boys are becoming less and less interested in things. Boys are proven to have a short attention spand. They get bored faster, and velectronics are causing this short attention spand. Boys are using electronics way to much, and this is causing them to not be beneficient and the boys get bored faster because when they are not on electronics, they are already bored. This relates to me because I am a boy, and I would have to agree on this article. I myself get bored when I am not playing with electronics, and I think this is a phase that must be overcome. This matters to education because all male students get side trcked, and video games are to much of a benefactor for them. If students are always on electronics they will not learn nearly as much. This matters to the world because if boys continue to ignore education they will not exceed later in life and they will have a terrible occupation. Technology is advancing way to fast, my question for you all is will you let technology take control of your life?

In Kieren Nicholson's post "All 12 Injured on Calhan school bus recovering at home today" a school bus slid off the road and rolled down into a ditch. The bus contained twenty four students, and half of these students were injured. This matters to me because I am a student, and I ride the bus home from school. This would be very frightening if I was on the bus that rolled down a ditch, and I think students should be garenteed to have a safe ride to school. This matters to education because students all over the state ride buses, and need to get to school safe. This matters to the world because people ride buses all over the place, and a lt of people use it for just a way to get from place to place. The buses should be safe for everyone. Do you think buses are safe for transporting students?

In Karl Fisch's article "What If" the children are not aloud to use any electronics during school hours. The electronics are to much of an advantage on students, and students have progressed well without them. The video shows that students have relied on electronics way to much and they are disstracting. This matters to me because I aam a student, and I feel that technology is more helpful then harmful. I think students need to take more advantage on technology and use it to better themselves. This matters to education because so many students use technology to learn, and if that priviledge is taken away many students' grades will drop. This matters to the world because technology is increasing and improving quickly and more and more people are using it. Technology is happening, wheter we choose to ignore it or accept it. My question for you all is you accept the new ways of technology or will you choose to ignore them?

In the article "Morning Crash Kills Lakewood Motorist" by Howard Hankratz it tells of a man on a motorcycle who was going way to fast and decked head on into a van. The van tried to stop, but the truck behind the van slammed into the van. This matters to me because I am a new driver and drivers who speed kind of freak me out. I want the roads to be safe for not just me but for all new drivers. This matters to education, because not all drivers ed schools are putting the speed factor into kids minds. This matters to the world because people drive everywhere, and everyone should have the priviledge to drive in a safe road friendly enviroment. My question for you all is are driver ed companies are teaching kids appropriatly?

In Alfie Kohn's article "School's Would Be Great if it Wern't for the Kids" Alfie goes into explaining all the problems students cause and students are not even trying to learn. Parents are blaming teachers for not giving students desent grades. Students are not paying attention in class, and are ignoring the knowledge given to them. This relates to me because I am a student and I feel dismal after reading this article, and I don't find this article true. I feel that students try in school, but some do not have that good of an attention span. This relates to education because students all over the world are learning in new unique ways. This relates to the world because every student in the world needs to learn from somebody and they can't learn everything on their own. Students need teachers and teachers need students. My question for you all is are students the problem or are teachers?

In Kirk Mitchell's article "Boulder Residents Evacuated due to Wildfire can Return Home" it tells us of a fire that started up in Boulder. The fire scorched more then one hundred forty four acres of land west of Boulder. More then one thousand six hundred houses were evacuated, and many state parks were destroyed. However the fire was put out and now all residents will return home. This relates to me because I would like to know when to evacuate, and when to return home if there is a big fire. This relates to education because students need to know what to do in case of a fire. This relates to the world because fires start and stop everyday and everyone needs to know when there homes are at risk. In conclusion The fire in Boulder was well handeled, they got out everyone, and thet extinguished the fire. My question for you all is would you like to be well informed about fires near and far?

In Jonathan Rosenberg's article "Our Googley Advice To Students: Major in Learning" the article states that companies are looking for intelligent people to fill in for empty or unoccupied jobs. It also explains that students who are creative and are good problem solvers have a better chance of succeeding in careers. This seems like companies are being very malevolent towards students who are less smart. This matters to me because I want to have a good career and learn as much as I possibly can in order to achieve my goals. This matters to education because students everywhere want a decent job and to obtain their goals. This matters to the world because many people with jobs will be replaced by smarter and more intellectual people, this will lead to a lot of people jobless and cashless. In conclusion I think peole should be trying their hardest to get this advantage. My question for you all is will you let people take your job do to lack of intelligence?

In the article "Fire Scorches Southeast Denver Apartment Building" by Kieren Nicholson from the "Daily Post" she tells us of a fire that started in Denver. How the fire started is still unknown but nobody was killed, but a few women had to be taken to the hospital do to smoke inhalation. A few people who were on higher floors actually had to repel down the balconies. This affected me because I would like to know when and where a fire is burning. I also would like to know how to get out of my burning house if my exits were blocked. This affects education because I think students should know every possible scenario in case of a fire. We should be prepared in case an exit is blocked off. This also relates to the world because fires occur everyday and everyone should know where to find safety. Fires are very dangerous and we should be prepared at all times. My question is are schools really giving us all the safety procedures we need?

In the video "2020 Vision" by Karl Fisch, it goes into explaining how education is changing and students will be learning differently. The video tells us that we will be using much technology to learn and the students will be the philosophers, meaning most things will be done on the computer and not on paper. It shows that we will not even have to leave our houses to go to class because we will be learning from google and the internet. This affects me because I am a student and this shows me how I will be learning. I feel like this will b very hard for me to get used to but I am going to have to accept the new learning system in order to suceed. this matters to education because it affect all students and their learning processes. All students are going to have to use this teaching method if they want to get a good job. This matters to the world because we will learn more things much faster and we will be able to make new things and new learning methods. The question I leave you with is, will this learning process help or hurt you?

In the post "Man Going 90 mph Now Faces Drug Charges" by The Denver post, tells of a man who was flying at 90miles an hour who also had marijuana in his car. The man had a rental car and he was pulled over doing ninty miles an hour. The police then searched his vehicle and discovered thirty five pounds of pot. This matters to me because I am a new driver myself and I would like to feel safe on the road but it is hard to think this when you know someone out there is going way over the speed limit. This matters to education because it should show students that it is not only dangerous to go over the speed limit aand to have pot, but this decision could affect the rest of there lives. This matters to the world because people deserve to know what dangers are out on the road and they should learn from this mans mistakes. After reading this article, i would like to ask you all one question, will you be responsible on and off the road?

In the article "Rigor Redefined" by Tony Wagner, explains how education is changing, and management is looking for different skills in people to fill in jobs. Wagner is a bit of a philanthropist in this article because he goes on explaining that teachers are not teaching students right and it is partly their fault that students are lacking some life skills such as leadership, creativity, and communication skills. This matters to me because I am a student and I think I should receive as many life skills as possible so I can get a good job. This matters to education because teachers are changing learning and we will not be nearly as educated and there will be less and less philantropists throughout the schools. This matters to the world because everyone is competing for jobs, and you need to be smart if you want a decent job. In conclusion, I feel that it is not the teachers' full respnsibility to teach students all the life skills they will need. My question for you all is, are the teachers responsible for our poor learning habits?
